Introduction
The Nano was released in 2005 as a replacement for the iPod Mini.
It was the second iPod to contain flash memory, which was the primary
reason the Mini was discontinued. It's been updated three times
since 2005, meaning it's had four generations. The latest is referred
to as the Nano 'chromatic' due to it's aluminum case.
Unlike the Shuffle, the Nano has always contained a click wheel
like the Classic. The first model released had 2GB of flash
memory, which has expanded to a maximum of 16GB for the 4G model.
The 4G model has a selection of three versions, one with 4GB, 8GB
and 16GB. The 3G and 4G Nano's have also contained video playback.
The 1G Nano had three versions, with 1GB, 2GB and 4GB of memory.
The price for all three was 149, 199 and 249 dollars respectively.
The next three generations have all retained this price structure.
Which generally converts to pounds sterling as follows, 149 $ -
99 £, 199 $ - 129 £.

Nano's lithium-ion battery suspected of overheating
The 3G Nano did have reports of overheating battery problems, specifically
located in Japan, it prodded the Japanese government to investigate
the matter. It's not the first time Apple have had problems with
their lithium-ion battery, over one million laptop batteries were
recalled in 2006.
The lithium-ion battery has not only caused problems to Apple.
Other major manufacturers such as Dell and Nokia have recently recalled
millions of their defective batteries. Lithium-ion batteries can
pose a serious health risk, with the ability to burst into flames
and explode with a ferocious impact when highly overheated.
